Weekends in June - Street Food at the Saints Ground

Northampton’s popular pop-up street food festival is taking place at the Saints Ground for a summer of food with classic bite street every two weeks with Smoke Street and a burger festival in-between. Basically a month of guaranteed great food for the weekends – what more could you need!

1st July - Last Man Standing screening at Northampton Filmhouse

Dogwoof are partnering with your local independent cinema Northampton Filmhouse for a one night only event with a screening of Last Man Standing and a recorded Q&A with the director, hosted by Trevor Nelson. The movie, "Last Man Standing: Suge Knight and the Murders of Biggie & Tupac" looks at Death Row and how L.A.’s street gang culture had come to dominate its business workings as well as an association with corrupt LA police officers who were also gang affiliated. It would be this world of gang rivalry and dirty cops that would claim the lives of the world’s two greatest rappers, Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.

Until 18 July - VISUALise at 78 Exhibition

There's a display of Contemporary Stitched Art Textiles by Northamptonshire based VISUALise textile art group at 78 Derngate (The Charles Rennie Mackintosh House). It features fourteen textile artists showing their latest stitched textiles to inspire and buy. The group have been together for several years and have exhibited at various venues throughout the midlands and in London. On display are abstract, realistic and figurative art using a wide variety of media: wire, paper, fabric (new, distressed and recycled) and found objects. These have been hand and machine stitched, or felted to create art inspired by both the natural world and the built environment. As well as wall mounted art other smaller unframed pieces, cards, accessories, gifts and creative packs are on show to inspire and buy.

Sunday 20 and 27 June - McDonald’s Fun Football at Northampton Goals from 11am

Fun Football is a fun, friendly and safe environment, for boys and girls aged 5 – 11 to try football for the first time.

 
Hundreds of free sessions of football are being delivered by a team of fully UKFA qualified coaches, in over 700 locations across the nation.
