MK Dons have announced the signing of defender Marvin Ekpiteta, who has joined from Scottish side Hibernian.

The 29-year-old has joined MK Dons for an undisclosed fee and signed a contract of undisclosed length at Stadium MK.

Ekpiteta is the Dons’ eighth signing of the 2025 summer transfer window, following the previous arrivals of Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, Rushian Hepburn-Murphy, Aaron Collins, Gethin Jones, Will Collar, Tom Finch and Callum Paterson.

Defender Ekpiteta spent just one season in Edinburgh, having joined Hibernian from Blackpool in 2024. Before his move to Scotland, Ekpiteta had made over 100 EFL appearances in four seasons contracted to Blackpool. He achieved promotion from League One to the Championship in his first season with Blackpool, having also previously won a promotion with Leyton Orient.

In an arrival interview with the official MK Dons website, Ekpiteta said he was excited to join the project at Stadium MK in the hopes of playing more regularly.

He said, “I’m happy to be here, I’m looking forward to the new challenge ahead. It’s an exciting club to be a part of. I didn’t play as much as I’d have liked to last year, I want to play regular football again.

“I’ve played higher, I’ve played lower, and I know what it takes to push on and up, to get us out of this league. I feel like I bring a lot of experience and some good qualities to the team. The signings the club is making are really positive, so I’m happy to be on board!”
