Luton Town midfielder Jayden Luker will spend the season on loan with League 2 side Notts County.

The 20-year-old, who is a graduate of the Luton academy, has joined the Magpies on a season-long loan deal, with the deal marking a second EFL loan move for Luker after he spent part of last season on loan with Grimsby Town.

Luker scored 3 times in 26 appearances on loan with the Mariners last season, helping the Lincolnshire side to finish narrowly outside the League 2 play-offs.

In his career, Luker had also spent on time on loan with Woking in the National League.

Notts County’s Director of Football Roberto Gagliardi told the club’s official website that he was happy to put in the work with Luton to get the deal done.

He said, “Jayden is another exciting, attack-minded player who will be enjoyable to watch.

“He’s a good dribbler with pace and creativity, making him a threat both in terms of goals and assists, and is probably best suited to the number 10 role in our system while also being adept as a winger or support striker.

“Jayden impressed during his loan at Grimsby and attracted a lot of interest from other clubs in League Two for this season, although there was no guarantee that Luton wanted to send him out again.

“The good relationship between both clubs’ coaching staff was key to making this happen and I’d like to express my gratitude to Luton for allowing him to join us.”

The deal has been concluded in time for the opening weekend of the League Two season, which sees Notts County begin their season by travelling to face Newport County on Saturday (02/08).

Luker is the second young prospect in the Hatters’ squad to earn a League Two loan move in this transfer window.

Earlier this month, Luton confirmed that striker Taylan Harris would be joining Tranmere Rovers. The 19-year-old will join Tranmere Rovers, and will stay with the Merseyside-based club until January.

Harris had joined Luton from Reading in 2024, though is yet to make his first-team debut for the Bedfordshire based club.
