Firefighters in Milton Keynes were deployed to attend and extinguish a fire at a substation in the Bletchley area of the city.

Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that firefighters were called to a two storey disused warehouse where there was a fire within an electrical substation.

Fire broke out at around 12:50am this morning (28/07), with the fire occurring within a location that was approximately ten meters by twenty meters.

The fire involved a 11,000 volt ringman unit and a high voltage transformer.

National Grid were in attendance and isolated the supply. Thames Valley Police were also in attendance.

Two fire crews from the Broughton and West Ashland stations attended the incident, which was extinguished through the use of one main jet.
