Northampton Town have confirmed their League One match against Barnsley has been postponed.
A pitch inspection was called to be held today (10/01) at the Cobblers’ Sixfields ground to determine if their clash with Barnsley tomorrow (11/01) could be held, but following a week of sub-zero temperatures in the UK, the pitch failed the inspection.
In a brief statement, Northampton said, “Northampton Town’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Barnsley was postponed because of a frozen pitch. A new date for the game will be confirmed in due course.
“Match ticket holders are asked to keep their match tickets safe until a new date is confirmed. Any tickets purchased for the original game will be valid for the new date, while refund details for match ticket holders unable to make the new date will be confirmed when a new date is known.”
Northampton will next be in action on January 18th when they welcome Lincoln City to Sixfields.
