MK Dons’ match at Fleetwood Town has been given a new date in mid-January.
The Dons will make the trip to Fleetwood’s Highbury Stadium on Tuesday January 21st, with the match the first of the Dons’ two recently postponed away dates to get a new timeslot to be played.
Fleetwood were initially due to host the Dons on November 23rd, only for Storm Bert to make conditions unsuitable and lead to the game being called off.
The match was one of two MK Dons away days in less than a month to be postponed due to issues with the weather, with the Dons’ trip to Barrow last Saturday (07/12) postponed due to Storm Darragh. This game is yet to have a new date confirmed.
MK Dons’ trip to Highbury will place it between a match away at Walsall on January 18th and a home clash with AFC Wimbledon on January 25th. With a game away at Carlisle taking place the week before the game at Walsall, it means the Dons face three away games in a row in January.
As part of the announcement of the new date, MK Dons have confirmed tickets previously purchased remain valid for the new fixture. They also confirmed official away travel will again be valid for the new date, meaning supporters who had purchased coach tickets for the original fixture will be able to travel to the midweek game at no additional cost.
In a statement, MK Dons CEO Neil Hart said, “While we appreciate just how frustrating our recent postponements have been, I’d like to reassure our supporters that the club took every step to get those games on, liaising with the host clubs and the EFL at every stage. I’m also delighted we’re able to cover the cost of official away travel for our supporters.”
