
Fire crews were called after a fire broke out in two kiosks at the centre:mk shopping centre in Milton Keynes yesterday (26/08).
The crews were called out at around 3pm yesterday after two catering buildings in Queen’s Court in the shopping centre caught fire.
Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue confirmed that multiple crews were called out to attend the incident in helping them extinguish the blaze.
Two appliances and crews from West Ashland, one from Broughton and one from Winslow attended the blaze, along with two officers who also attended.
The firefighters used four sets of breathing apparatus, two main jets and one hose reel jet.
The fire department confirmed that one of the outbuildings was 100 percent destroyed by the fire, while the other was approximately 50 percent damaged by the fire.
Part of the shopping centre was closed and evacuated while the situation was dealt with by the emergency services, with the centre later closed altogether. Thames Valley Police also enforced a road closure in areas around the vicinity, which has since been lifted.
